Coach and Developmental Therapist
Mehak Chopra
As a developmental therapist and aspiring psychologist, Mehak brings a warm, personalised and strength-based approach to supporting children and young people. She is passionate about understanding everyone’s unique developmental journey and works collaboratively with clients and families to identify goals, build on strengths and provide support that is responsive to their needs. Her practice is informed by emerging trends and evidence-based approaches, with a focus on ensuring that therapy remains relevant, thoughtful and responsive to each client’s stage of development.
Mehak has a background in psychology, with an interest in maternal mental health and its relationship to child development outcomes, including the role partner support can play in shaping these outcomes She has also taught Developmental Psychology, along with other psychology subjects, at university level, reflecting her ongoing commitment to this field.
Mehak believes that early and appropriately tailored intervention can have a meaningful and lasting impact on a person’s wellbeing and future. Her approach recognises that development does not follow a single pathway, and she values life-stage-specific interventions that consider the individual child or young person within the context of their family, relationships and broader environment. Her kind, approachable practical style is complemented by a genuine commitment to the wellbeing of children and young adults. She is passionate about creating a therapeutic environment where clients feel understood and supported to develop their resilience and confidence.
Her commitment to developmental practice, ongoing learning and research-informed care is a strong complement to the Acua team.
Outside of work, she enjoys caring for her collection of houseplants, baking and discovering new places to eat.
