Provisional Psychologist
Christine Gasiamis
Christine is a Provisional Psychologist who is passionate about supporting individuals and families to feel safe, understood, and empowered in their mental health and wellbeing journey. Her approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in the belief that people thrive when they are met with genuine curiosity, respect, and compassion.
Working with adults, adolescents, and children experiencing anxiety, emotional regulation difficulties, trauma-related concerns, stress, and life transitions. Her practice draws on evidence-based approaches including CBT, ACT, DBT, Schema-informed work, and mindfulness-based strategies. Psychology with Chris aims to create a culturally safe and inclusive space that feels steady and non-judgemental where clients can explore their experiences at a pace that feels right for them.
Her background includes crisis intervention, risk assessment, diagnostic assessment and formulation, and individual and group therapeutic work in both inpatient and community settings. She value clear communication, strong professional boundaries, and a collaborative therapeutic relationship where client goals guide the work. At Acua, she is committed to providing trauma-informed, neurodiversity-affirming, and person-centred care that supports meaningful and sustainable change working closely with Developmental Therapists and Educators.
“I am drawn to this field because of the meaningful impact that psychological support can have on a person’s life. I have seen how increased self-understanding, the right tools, and a supportive therapeutic relationship can shift how people relate to themselves and their experiences. Supporting people to feel heard, understood, and more equipped to navigate life’s challenges is what drives my commitment to this work”.
As a practitioner Chris enjoys witnessing the moments where things begin to make sense for someone - when they feel a little more clarity, a little more self-trust, or a little more hope than when they first arrived.
Outside the therapy room, Chris enjoys learning new skills and exploring new ways to understand people and how they grow – something that inspires me both professionally and personally.
