Provisional Psychologist
Alexander Barac
Alex is a warm and empathetic provisional psychologist who brings a strengths-based, neuro-affirming, and trauma-informed approach to his clients. Working with Adults, couples, families and children, Alex works with clients across the lifespan. He has experience working with a range of issues including anxiety and self-criticism, life transitions, living with neurodivergence, insomnia, drug and alcohol use, and difficulties at school. He is passionate about helping his clients achieve measured and realistic change.
Drawing on primarily on Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Alex aims to build strong person-centred therapeutic relationships based in respect, curiosity, and kindness to help his clients explore their thoughts, feelings, and concerns in a relaxed, safe, and judgement-free zone.
In addition to private practice, Alex also holds a research position for cognitive health and dementia. He enjoys reading and cooking, watching his guitar gather dust, and geeking out about transport.
